Music Declares Emergency est un groupe d'artistes, de professionnel·le·s de la musique et d'organisations qui se réunit pour déclarer l'état d'urgence au niveau climatique et écologique. Nous appelons à une réponse immédiate du gouvernement pour protéger toute vie sur Terre. Nous croyons au pouvoir de la musique pour incarner mais aussi soutenir la transformation culturelle nécessaire à un avenir durable.

Que la musique et sa filière, grâce à sa puissance culturelle et économique uniques, peuvent ouvrir la voie en exigeant les changements systémiques nécessaires pour sécuriser toute forme de vie sur Terre.

Nous appelons toutes celles et ceux qui opèrent au sein du monde de la musique à nous rejoindre et à déclarer l’urgence climatique, à collaborer pour instaurer les changements opérationnels et culturels nécessaires pour un futur à l’empreinte carbone neutre.

Music Declares Emergency France (MDE France) est une association loi 1901, créée par des artistes, professionnel·le·s et d'organisations du secteur musical soucieux·ses d’apporter une réponse à l'urgence climatique.

MDE France s'adresse à toustes les acteur·rices de la filière musicale quels que soient leurs esthétique, profession, genre, origine ou orientation sexuelle. Elle est dirigée par des individus unis par une profonde préoccupation pour le climat et l’urgence écologique auxquelles nous sommes actuellement confronté·es. La filière musicale, en raison de ses spécificités, a besoin de son propre mouvement pour mener cette action. Toute personne faisant partie de la filière peut s'y impliquer.

Afin de renforcer son action, MDE France collabore avec des acteur·rices issu·es issus d’autres domaines : développement durable, science, mode etc. Music Declares Emergency France s’inscrit dans la continuité du mouvement initié en Angleterre en 2019, par Music Declares Emergency UK (MDE UK).

MDE UK est un groupe indépendant qui rassemble des personnes inspirées par ou ayant fait partie de groupes tels qu’Extinction Rebellion, des membres de l’association écologique et musicale Julie's Bicycle, et bien d'autres professionnel·les de la filière musicale. Julie's Bicycle a de nombreuses années d'expérience dans l'accompagnement à la transition écologique auprès des acteur·rices culturel·les en Angleterre et à l'international.

MDE FR est en train de créer une cagnotte HelloAsso afin de collecter des fonds pour subvenir aux frais de lancement et de fonctionnement de l’association.

Voici quelques suggestions pour vous aider à agir après avoir signé notre déclaration :

Persistez à dénoncer l’urgence climatique et écologique. En plus de votre engagement politique, agissez au niveau individuel. Quel que soit votre environnement, vous pouvez vous impliquer de multiples façons. Le résultat sera aussi hétéroclite que notre communauté. Certes, sans changement systémique radical, les actions individuelles peuvent sembler futiles ; en réalité, ces actions aident à ouvrir la voie et à façonner le monde à l’image des valeurs que nous portons. Elles permettent de créer le dialogue et de donner une place prépondérante à l’écologie dans nos vies quotidiennes. Nul besoin de tout faire à la fois : nos voix et actions collectives résonneront à l’unisson au sein de la communauté musicale.
